Prof. Guo-Qiang Li, Director of the International Research Hub on Smart Fire Safety Engineering, convened the 12th National Symposium on Structural Fire Resistance in Xuzhou on November 8, 2024, serving as the Conference Chair. In his opening address, Prof. Li underscored the critical role of interdisciplinary collaboration and international cooperation in advancing fire safety research, while urging academic participation in the international joint research projects spearheaded by the Hub.
During the closing remarks, he highlighted the symposium's foundational contributions to fostering industry-academia-research synergy in "smart fire safety" and announced the 13th symposium’s tentative hosting by Hefei University of Technology in 2026. Prof. Li called for sustained scholarly support for innovation in structural fire resistance, demonstrating his academic leadership and global vision in driving cross-disciplinary and international advancements within the field.
